A look at the story: Be Still, Love Nature.

Be Still, Love Nature was written with immense love for nature, and for children.

I am a mother, an educator, an artist, and a writer.

I created this audio animation and posted it on YouTube because my mission is to get my story to as many children as possible. All the production, illustrations and narration, are my own. Sounds are royalty free for usage.

Goals FOR THIS STORY:

  • #1: To educate and inspire children to build a closer, more loving relationship with nature.

  • #2: To inspire readers of any age to spend more time in nature, and to be more present while outside.

  • #3: To create a genuine feeling that is heartwarming, and can bring people of different generations together.

  • #4: To leave readers with a renewed view of the outdoors, it’s beauty, and it’s worth.

  • #5: To make a book and a story that is beautiful to read, and to look at.

THE ILLUSTRATIONS

  • The illustrations were designed to connect from one to another.

  • The last spread also connects back to the beginning. The goal is that the idea goes without saying that everything is connected, and that no matter where you are, you’re never too far from nature.

  • The illustrations sort of talk the reader on a walk and an experience through the woods.

  • Also, notice that the more metropolitan areas seem further away, while the experience in nature is much more up close and intimate to the reader.

  • They are all hand drawn and painted using watercolor.

  • To the left is a time lapse of all of the illustrations being painted.
